Album session

We had a wonderful two days at Eastcote studios recording my debut album. The album features many of my own compositions which we’ve been gigging for several years, as well as arrangements of two jazz standards. Palle Nodeland was there to film the first day and took this picture of myself and engineer George Murphy listening back to a take! I’m looking forward to sharing the music and videos with you all soon!

Thanks to all those who made it to the Vortex on the 8th March, it was a really fantastic night! The next gig with my quartet will be at the Con Cellar Bar in Camden on the 8th April. More NCW gigs listed below!

8th April NCW4 @ The Con Cellar Bar, Camden

21st April NCW3 @ The Arch Duke, Waterloo

26th April NCW4 plus special guest Sam Rapley @ Oliver’s, Greenwich

20th July NCW4 @ Karamel Club, Wood Green

Crocker’s Folly

Unfortunately the gig on 1st March with Sam Braysher and Tom Farmer was cancelled by the venue at almost zero notice. This was totally out of my hands but I’m aware that some people had made a special trip to come and see us perform so huge apologies for the disappointment. If you contact me via email I’ll be happy to put you on the guest list for future NCW gigs.

Album recording

I’m currently busy working towards the recording session for my debut album in April. The quartet is doing a series of gigs leading up to the session in order to work in new material and refine older tunes. We had a fantastic gig at the Ram Jam Club in Kingston last week, you can find a link to a video from the gig below. I’m especially looking forward to the next performance at one of my favourite jazz clubs, The Vortex in Dalston. We’ll be performing my tunes, new and old, as well as my own takes on some lesser known jazz standards.
